Posted July 7, 2014. Having an ongoing problem with air getting into the fuel in my Focus 1.6Tdci. First thing that happened was the car just cut out and diagnostics suggested a fuel rail pressure sensor so that was replaced. Then, following a full service, the car would just cut out every 500 miles or so.

I replace the oil and filter myself a week later with Ford specified oil a week later. Problem was accepted by the main dealer and gave credit for oil and filter. Yesterday 15 July Oil contamination light came on. Checked oil level it is still clear and the same level it was after the oil change (5 marks below max.)

Step 2. Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car. Step 3. Remove the engine cover. Replacement: fuel filter – FORD MONDEO IV (BA7). Tip from AUTODOC: Raise the engine cover, holding it on two sides simultaneously.Do not apply excessive force when removing the part. Sun 23 Sep 2007 09:44. Diesel fuel filters, changed too often? - 659FBE. Some valid points have been made above and of course, the change interval for a fuel filter of given dirt capacity will depend on the amount of fuel which has passed through it and the amount of dirt in that fuel.
